Langres Sud business park
Autoroutes Paris-Rhin-Rhône and EGIS PROJECTS have joined forces for the development of secure HGV parking facilities in France.
The aim of this activity marketed under the name of Park+ is to create parking facilities that meet the high requirements of hauliers, insurance companies and local authorities to make road freight more secure. This service is based on the principle of a closed parking area with numerous video-surveillance cameras and an access control system. The centres are guarded 24/7 by qualified agents.
In these secure areas, Park+ offers new services for road hauliers. As a result, Park+ has decided to set up "multiservice" buildings within the secure parking areas that will include a "lorry drivers" restaurant, bar, shop, lounge facilities, a launderette, showers, toilets and washrooms. This concept has already been developed in several countries in Europe, in the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy in particular, and provides an appropriate response to the needs of road transport professionals. Several of the French motorway network service areas are now saturated.
To launch this activity, Park+ has built its first secure vehicle park in the Langres Sud Business Park near the A31 motorway at junction 6. It is an area where HGVs normally stop on their way between Northern and Southern Europe. With a surface area of 5 hectares, the secure Langres Sud centre is able to accommodate 230 HGVs.
A real added benefit for heavy goods drivers, Park+ ensures total security for drivers, their merchandise and their vehicles.
By their organisation, capacity for innovation and acknowledged experience in road infrastructures, Autoroutes Paris-Rhin-Rhône and the Egis Group have pooled their expertise to provide an added-value service for road transport in France.
The Autoroutes Paris-Rhin-Rhône Group
The second-largest motorway group in France and the third in Europe, Autoroutes Paris-Rhin-Rhône and its subsidiary, Autoroutes Rhône-Alpes (AREA), build, manage and operate a network of 2,260 km of motorways under a State concession.
The Autoroutes Paris-Rhin-Rhône Group connects two complementary networks in France, one that consists, amongst others, of a double link between Paris and Lyon (via Troyes/Dijon or Auxerre) and the other serving the Rhônalpine region, the Lyon, Annecy, Chambéry, Albertville, Grenoble and Valence sectors. A major communication corridor in Europe, a total of around 20 billion kilometres were covered on this network in 2004. The Group's consolidated sales figure for 2004 amounted to 1.510 billion euros, with a net profit of 148 million euros. The Group has 4,495 employees.
The Egis Group
A subsidiary of the Caisse des Dépôts Group with €442M sales in 2004 and 4,000 employees worldwide, the Egis Group is one of the world leaders in transport and infrastructure engineering. It has a global offering, combining engineering, the setup of projects and the operation of motorway concessions. From a network standpoint, Egis is the leading French group for the operation of international motorways.
Its 13 operating companies (8 in Europe, 3 in Australia and 2 in Asia) now manage close to 1,000 km of motorways, 700 km of which are already in operation. In France, Transroute International is present in the operation of the A28 motorway (125 km).
